Reform UK Launching Constituency Branches

Reform UK Launching Constituency Branches

Following on from the electoral successes and massive vote share on July 4th in the general election, Reform UK are in the process of democratising the party, setting up constituency branches with provisional, acting Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Campaign Coordinator and Secretary.

On september the 20th at the Reform UK party conference at the NEC the new Reform UK party constitution will be unveiled, explaining voting rights and the process for registered members to have their say in their democratic party.

This process will be completed within a year after which time each branch will hold an AGM where the five roles will be fully elected by constituency members.

Reform UK

Each branch will be in control of their constituency, managing local and national election campaigns, building Reform UK support, membership numbers, finding candidates to stand in all local elections, fund raising and holding social events for members.

With Reform Party membership now north of 75,000, up from less than 30,000 in May 2024, there is a massive growth in support for the party who are working hard to build a fully democratic structure in the coming months.

The party structure is destined to be changed too and more of that will be unveiled when the Reform Party constitution is released in September.

Winning Elections

At the general election many voters were concerned that Reform UK could not win any seats and as such a vote for Reform was a wasted vote. The five wins in Clacton, Great Yarmouth, Ashfield, Skegness and South Basildon & East Thurrock demonstrated that Reform UK can win seats under the first past the post electoral system (FPTP). The stand out win was that of James McMurdock in South Basildon who was not an already known figure. James demonstrated that normal candidates can win for Reform UK.

In the first two council by-elections held since the general election, Reform UK won both of them and we can expect many more councillor wins in the coming months as more council by-elections are called.

The new branches will be instrumental in building the support for candidates going forwards. Reform UK are building a movement ahead of 2029 by when the next general election needs to occur. The required infrastructure will all be in place and functioning in the next 12 months as the party leadership are committed to being ready for a general election at any time from 2027 onwards.

If you aren’t involved with Reform UK yet, if you are not yet a member, sign up now, the branch leadership can’t do everything themselves, they need your support, they need you as members, they need you to attend their events, to get involved, to volunteer to help with campaigning and building a party that can and will win in 2029.
